Simple installation and customisation
Unlike most mini-distros that bundle all applications on a CDROM image iMedia
Linux uses a menu driven installation program which allows users to customise
their install by selecting what packages they want or use predefined templates.
This way users can make the best use of their available space. iMedia uses a
packaging system that allows users to further customise their system after the
installation by adding more software. Also each package in iMedia linux is
separate without any other dependencies to other packages making it easy for
users to add a standalone software without searching for packages with the
needed libraries.
More customisation can be made thru installation program dialogs which helps
users configure network, wireless network, add/remove/edit users, customise
boot options etc. This customisation is available after install too users
having the choice to install a console administration program or a web
administration program by choosing the desired package.
