Hi there. The iMedia distribution looks great, but I can't get it to boot. I'm building a media player with these specs:
M200-LCD Enclosure w/ picoLCD, picoPSU etc.
EPIA SP13000 (C3 1.3 ghz i386 CPU)
2.5" 40gb SATA HDD
256 mb RAM
IDE CD-ROM (external, for installing)
Tried iMedia 3.01 CD with all three different CPU architecture choices, and several different package configurations / bootloader options. Installation is flawless every time.
After-reboot, i686 and Geode versions would make it to the iMedia splash screen and then crap-out with the error message Kernel Panic - VFS Error - Unable to mount root FS - and two lights (Caps/Scroll) start flashing on the keyboard. No further input is possible, and the machine has to be forced to shutdown (holding pwr. button.)
The C3/Eden version would auto-reboot immediately after the GRUB bootloader. Tried changing the GRUB syntax, with no luck so far.
I've also tried installing the WRAP 5.0 distribution, with no success. Has anyone successfully installed iMedia linux on the SP13000? Will a simple change in GRUB make the difference? Why is the least successful method the one that's properly matched to the C3 processor?
Google is being very quiet on the subject. Thanks in advance to any passing agents of goodwill.
