oh, i forgot to mention... i was successful in running mplayer from the command line on an .avi file, and sound worked for that. Therefore, my unit's sound works, but i can't get the iMedia MythTV to recognize and use sound. So i'm optimistic that it will work. Just need the right config.
Another observation: i've made sure that the /etc/rcS.d/M10-also-sound is run, and yet MythTV still doesn't give audio.

i have the iMedia MythTV 4.0.1 installed and running on the M200, and have been successful in navigating the menu to fetch and view a video from the "Information" section of MythTV. Video seems to play ok (but possibly too fast?), BUT audio is completely silent. I've cycled through all the listed options (/dev/dsp, /dev/adsp, /dev/audio, /dev/sound/dsp, /dev/sound/adsp, etc) for the audio device within the MythTV setup section, but all without any luck at all.
Note the M200 mini-box uses the new VIA CN700 Chipset motherboard.
Any suggestions??
