Hi all,
I have a big problem with this distro.
The installation was fine, but at reboot mythtv didn't start.
I tried to manual launch Xserver, but it gave me the "no screens found" error.
The problem is it cannot find the "via" module.
I searched for the module in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers, but I cannot find it.
What happened?

I'm using a via epia M-9000.

Hi,

Make sure that when you choose packages for install you select viacle266-mpeg-3d-accell. That package contains via.ko modules for xorg. Also if you already have the system installed, mount the INSTALL CD and you can install the package directly from cd:
imedia #mount_cdrom imedia #cd /mnt/cdrom/packages imedia #./viacle266-mpeg-3d-accell.2.6.18.minibox.i686.imp Verifying archive integrity...OK Uncompressing Pro/CLE266 MPEG/3D acceleration support........................................................ Performing Install ... Done...

Thanks pando,
the problem is I have a EPIA M9000 vith C3-E processor, so I need i585 binary package.
I tried to do a full install of the i686 version, but I can't boot it! ;)

I currently have no working linux box, so I can't compile the driver. Maybe I'll set up a compiling-box... when I have time!

Another question: how do I create a imp package? Is there any documentation about it?
I plan to install wine and some other application on top of mythtv, so it would be great if I can manage them as your packages!

Hi,

I didn't consider the fact that you are using an i586 architecture so I gave you an example with i686 package. If you will take a look at cdrom packages directory, you will find there via-cle driver for i586 arch.

About creating packages, sorry but we do not have an easy to use environment for creating our packages, but considering the increasing amount of requests lately we will try to make a package as soon as possible with the script for creating custom packages.

I'm using the 4.0.1 iso, and the requesed package is the only one missing for i585 architectures. I can't find it even at install time. I don't think it's due to a burning error. Maybe...
